When I was in Hawaii my family took a trip on the road to Hana. Along the way we stopped at this beach that had a bunch of lava rocks around it where the waves would crash against them. So I decided to go out onto the rock and take a picture of when the waves crashed. All I had to do was wait for the perfect wave to take a picture of. I feel that I used close and far in the picture because of the mountain in the background as well as point of interest. These things made it very obvious what I was trying to take a picture of and it also provided depth to the picture. I also think I used balance and contrast well. I think I did best with the contrast because of the black rock and white from the water. The balance in the photo was created by the busyness on the bottom and not much going on in the top of the picture. I am really happy I took this picture because I feel that it portrays all of the beauty I saw in Hawaii. It helped me see all of the things that create the beauty of nature. I choose to take this because it is something you would see a professional photographer take and so I wanted to do something like they would do. I feel that I used my shutter speed very well in this picture because I was able to have the wave freeze in the air. But if I could redo anything I would take it during the sunset to make the sky have more depth and color to make it even prettier.
